Design direction
This is the conduct of assuming leadership in aIl aspects of the act of designing. It is an act of directing leadership to design. Since&sbquo however&sbquo the act of designing is itself an act that demands leadership&sbquo it must be defined in a composite approach as? "leadership in designing." Direction normally has three meanings. One is to determine direction or orientation. Another is to ideologically alter trends or movements. Then there is the overseeing or controlling of such trends or movements by giving directions&sbquo instructions? or guidance. In general&sbquo overseeing the design capability for the object or field of? design is considered design direction. However&sbquo as the object of direction is design&sbquo it will be necessary to redefine to what extent should design direction be. In other? words&sbquo the general overseeing of everything from the design environment that determines design&sbquo such as the operation&sbquo maintenance and management that comprises design management&sbquo to the design process&sbquo design development&sbquo and even? design strategy&sbquo is now required in design direction. In a broad sense&sbquo design direction covers the role and definition of design management and design production. However&sbquo in a narrow sense&sbquo it is possible to limit it to the definition of overall overseeing of the creative act of designing. That is&sbquo the design director is the leading character who paves the way to making design decisions for the object while selfbalancing the roles of design manager and producer. It is possible to define design direction as displaying leadership capability or direction ability in design itself to accomplish this.
