Perception(chikaku)

In Japan&sbquo Amane Nishi established the word cihikaku as the Japanese translation for the English word perception and the German word wahrnehmung when translating J. Haven's Mental Philosophy. The word perception is composed of the prefix per&sbquo which means "perfectly or completely&sbquo" and a Latin word capere&sbquo which means "to grasp. "To perceive" means to notice or know Something through The five senses&sbquo and indicates perception through the senses when comprehending an externally existing object. This sensory perception can be largely distinguished from mental thinking and deductions&sbquo but is also differentiated from mere sensations. That is&sbquo perception is not merely a sensation into which stimulation from the object are transformed&sbquo but also includes direct and contiguous intuitive knowledge from the object when it is being perceived&sbquo While perception includes direct sensations perceived through the five senses&sbquo it is also the grasping of our very inner states and consciousness -a perceptive knowledge that may be called "inner perception." Husserl and Merleau-Ponty analyzed primary knowledge acquired through inner perception and suggested that perception is a concrete and conscious experience with meanings&sbquo and a kind of stimulated pattern resulting from the relationship or involvement with the object. In other words&sbquo it can be said that the distinction between sensation and perception is vague&sbquo and perception is strongly influenced by both physiological and psychological responses. In design&sbquo the issue of perception is raised in cognitive science-the study of cognition (Perception) and the mechanism of physical movement-and it is necessary to deal with this as part of the study of design in the future. Research by David Marr&sbquo for example&sbquo who advocated the 2.5 dimensional sketch&sbquo will perhaps serves as useful reference. In order to integrate information regarding The homeostasis of perception&sbquo new research results are called for in the field involving the relationship between design and perception.
