To Define yasei&sbquo it is first necessary to clarify the meaning of its homonym yasei(wildlife). Yasei(wildlife) refers to something that has a state or condition of an instinctive character that is not at all changed by education or the system. Yasei(wildness)&sbquo on the other hand&sbquo is an instinctive wild character&sbquo but also includes that instinctive character gaining aspects of commonsense through education and the system. With the human being&sbquo it is almost impossible that the instinctive character is completely preserved and sustained from prehistoric times to our modern age. There is a view that human "wildness" transforms with the times&sbquo and such transformation is on the same dimension as language. Wildness today is thought to be closely related to the evolution of genes&sbquo historical transformations&sbquo contextual changes in linguistic structures&sbquo and physical transformations of the human beings due to environmental destruction. I myself have advocated the task of "design of wildness"(instinctive design)&sbquo and have given thoughts to "what wildness is" to achieve it. It is not&sbquo however&sbquo intended to define the task of finding out "what wildness is." It rather reflects the transformation of wildness due to natural and manmade changes in the environment. In other words&sbquo when we think about the relationship between "modernity" and "wildness&sbquo" the violent nature of "modernity" is more problematic than "wildness." This is because it is destroying the morality and canonicity in modern society&sbquo I believe design must become a device to control such violence.
