Networking means forming a network between sociai individuals or groups. Reflecting the fact the term network was originaily used in reference to broadcasting systems&sbquo it became established as a term that adapted its functional integrity&sbquo especially since the 1980s&sbquo to the context of social movement theory. It's a term that suggests the formation of a mutual conscious network among bodies in a certain movement&sbquo as seen in "grassroots movements." We can also consider it as a conceptual term born of a sense of crisis in advanced industrial societies that were faltering both in resources and ideoiogy in the 1970s. That is&sbquo it is a cultural movement&sbquo generated by the shared awareness of crisis&sbquo against the advanced industriai merit-based system&sbquo and in the 70s became a term that gained approval and recognition as part of a new cultural formation. In nations of technocrats&sbquo it was used as a conceptuai term to promote the formation of networks to reconfirm a certain shared value that differed from the general pubiic's consciousness that they belong to a single nation or ethnic group. So-called grassroots movements are new social movements transformed into networks through various senses of values. Specifically&sbquo the valuing of ecological symbiosis&sbquo which while establishing the individual's self discipline and seif-reaiization has deveioped to the stage that it aims to realize an infrastructure through the unifying power of the network&sbquo decentralization of organizations&sbquo and polycentrism&sbquo based on a direct and democratic collegiate system and the concept of networking. A powerful tool for this is the computer communication network calied the Internet&sbquo which is a form of media integration. It is predicted that mutual conformation of intentions through this network will be a social and cultural system or method. Computer-based communication design is the area of design that fundamentaiiy aids this networking.
